Tidak lama setelah openSUSE 11.2
resmi tersedia untuk publik, tim pengembang OpenSuse
Education merilis edisi khusus berbasis versi yang sama
distro yaitu openSUSE Edu Li-f-e ( Linux for education) yang
di targetkan untuk dunia pendidikan.
Bersama openSUSE 11.2 edisi khusus ini disertakan antara
lain Kiwi- LTSP-Server, yang dapat melayani sejumlah desktop
Thin Clients tanpa harddisk, paket LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL
dan PHP atau Perl) berikut semua perkakas untuk pengembangan
atau membangun website dan aplikasi web. Sudah tentu media
Li-f-e ini mengemas dalam jumlah besar program aplikasi yang
terkait dengan pendidikan. Kecuali lingkungan desktop yang
umum seperti GNOME 2.28, KDE 4.3 dan IceWM, ia bahkan
menyertakan Sugar, yaitu lingkungan desktop yang
dikembangkan untuk proyek OLPC (One Laptop Per Child).

KIWI-LTSP
- This Live DVD includes KIWI-LTSP server. To
Test the KIWI-LTSP Server follow the Quick Start
guide. Up to 5 users can be logged in to the
live LTSP server (You will need minimum 512MB
RAM+200M per additional user). More users can be
added after installing on hard disk.
- To test iTalc with LTSP, double-click iTalc
icon after booting clients.
- Network booting(PXE) clients directly from
the PC running this live DVD will give access to
all of the applications on the DVD as well as
all Desktop Environments.

- To test the Live KIWI-LTSP users can login
from terminals as linux1-linux5, password is
linux. For root there is no password.
